Who we are
Our Background
We are Nepali speaking Christians of Bhutanese Origin. We were forced to leave the country Bhutan, in late 80s due to language, cultural and religious difference. So, we spent almost 2 decades in refugee Camp in Nepal. Some of us were persecuted and exiled from the country for the sake of Christ. While in refugee camp, many of us heard about Jesus and received Him as our personal saviour and the Lord. We planted the church in refugee Camp and preached the Gospel to people as a result churches in refugee camps started to grow. We prayed for the repatriation for years but God had a different plan for us (Isaiah 58:8-9). God opened the door of some of the greatest nations of this world including the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, The UK, Netherland, Denmark, Norway for Bhutanese refugees. So since early 2007, more than 100 thousand Nepali speaking Bhutanese refugees are resettled in different countries around the world. God has been faithful to our people and the churches are growing. I genuinely believe that we are here in His plan and purpose. In Canada alone, there are more than 9 thousand Bhutanese resettled from coast to coast.
Our Story
We started our fellowship in a house with a single family in 2011 and prayed and waited for God’s timing. He answered our prayer as a result few families with their pastor moved from Quebec.
Our Story
Emmanuel Nepalese Church was officially started on March 30, 2014 with hardly handful of families in the apartment with prayers. It was a big risk to have a fellowship in the apartment as we were prone to having conflicts with other tenants because of possible noise and disturbance. God has been so good to us that there was no issue at all with the fellow tenants. Gradually congregation grew bigger as more fellow believers moved in from other provinces. Therefore, we decided to rent a hall for our Sunday service. We found a church basement suitable for our congregation and we rented this facility since February 14, until July 2018, which was located in 973 Pillette Rd. Windsor ON. That church was sold and we moved out to New Beginning Community Church formerly known as Calvary community Church located at 1731 Lesperance Rd, Windsor ON. We are still renting this church.
Recently, we officially joined the Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada, the global family of Christ with a greater vision and mission to work as a body of Christ in a broader way. Emmanuel Nepalese Church now is a legal entity under the umbrella of Foursquare Canada and we are thankful to God for all that he is doing through us.
